Hand-cast ceramic pomegranates and hamsas that are paint-splattered with love and mounted on a gold painted wooden panel are just the right combination of traditional Israeli/Jewish symbols with a modern twist.
Each hamsa and pomegranate is a unique piece of art, only one available of each. The paint splatter is symbolic of the tremendous amount of emotions we have collectively experienced since Oct. 7th. Paint splatter is not a very controllable method of painting, involving a great deal of kinetic energy which a viewer can intuit. While we have reached the darkest depths of sadness and pain since Oct 7th, I chose explicitly to use bright colors as a means of conveying two overarching messages:
we can channel our emotions into bright action
"Those who sow with tears shall reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves." (Tehillim 126:5-6)
